So, we are finally underway on the remodel. Here are some images to show where we started. You’ll note the new metal already going up. This is because we need to get the old siding off and treat the wood. We’ll come back later and cut out for the windows. I’ll continue to update this post. We’re also putting a custom black marble cornerstone in the Northeast corner which will reflect our names and International Brotherhood of Rail Riders!
The International Brotherhood of Rail Riders has officially made its way both into cyberspace and the 21st Century. Accordingly, as the president, it is fitting that I welcome you aboard! I would also like to announce the fact that both this website and the forum are powered by open source platforms; WordPress on the site and SMF for the forum. Additionally, the computers being used have been recycled and utilize Linux-based platforms.
With that said, this site will be under a constant state of construction. I am dividing my time between it and the forum. Currently, the forum is the priority as it serves as the nerve center. You will also find, as this site evolves, that portions of this site are redacted. This is for security reasons. To receive access to them you must either be a member of the IBRR or contact me and petition for membership.

I don’t usually post on politics; I believe political (and religious) opinions are biased and thus pointless. I am probably labeled as a libertarian and with that said I really think the vast majority (if not all) of politicians should be arrested.
I was gravely concerned when President Obama was elected. Oh, not because he was black or an unknown; primarily because he was a Democrat and I have a real displeasure in my tax dollars being squandered on bullshit programs. Suprisingly, though, I have been somewhat pleased. He’s pulling out of Iraq: this alone is a good thing. We never should have been there; that was a straight Bush fuck up. He is moving more troops into Afghanistan: now, this could be good if he does it right and focuses on getting Karzai out of there. His foreign policy is fairly decent; almost right of center. So, on these points, I am pretty satisfied.
Here’s where I am seriously pissed off: Obama has funneled almost a TRILLION dollars to corrupt insurance companies (AIG) and banks. He knew from jump that they wouldn’t put the money back into the system. You could have given that money to families to pay off their mortgages which would have: a) allowed folks to be debt free; b) put money back into the economy; and c) created safe havens for children to live (as opposed to the shelters they are living in now). What is even more sickening is the fact that these same insurance companies and banks are now flaunting their millions of dollars of bonuses in the faces of those whom have lost everything. Obama’s response? Nothing. Let’s not fuck around here: any President has the power of Executive Order and he has miserably failed.
I was impressed, though, the other day by President Obama. He took on (and won in my opinion) the Republican Conference in Baltimore; walked straight into the lion’s den and kicked some ass. No one really wanted to comment on this. I think he should be complimented on this. His reasons were probably motivated due to his polls, but he proved that he deserves the Presidency by displaying his voluminous knowledge while showing the Republican leadership to be the bullshitters they are. What I am saddened about is the fact that Congress is banking on the fact that the President cannot really do much of anything. Once again, Executive Order!
My final rant deals with jobs. Look, the President’s administration entered the game saddled with some seriously fucked up economic conditions and two bullshit wars. So, instead of politics as usual, why don’t we put people to work on the Nation’s infrastructure? Remember the WPA stamps on older sidewalks? Yeah, that was the Works Project Administration. Instead of giving our hard earned cash to a bunch of fucking bankers why not invest it in the people?
The reality is this: it is Congress, not the President, that is bankrupting the most powerful Nation on Earth. Let’s get some Independent candidates in and start to think locally instead of globally!
So, this year has seen a LOT of accomplishments for IBRR. First, we got the forum underway. Second, we launched Project Magellan. The Project is one of the biggest things to report on as it will be the first time ever that real time, streaming information inclusive of scanner feeds, video and semantic layered information will be available from a phone!
Another announcement is that my son is due this March. I am eagerly awaiting his arrival and already counting down the days until he makes his way into the IBRR National Executive Council.
A final note: we are hosting a New Year’s Party here at the IBRR SE Command. If you are a member or considering membership, feel free to RSVP at the link above.
A safe and Happy New Year to all!

Well, the fall season is shaping up quite nicely for the IBRR Forum. We recently incorporated a flash shoutbox and tweaked the header image. There will be a lot of ongoing site construction through next year.
We’d like to take the time to thank Ameo from SMF in the Netherlands for coming onboard to head up some of the stuff and Kat from the UK as well! Thanks a lot as we couldn’t of done it without ya’ll!
If you’re interested in the Forum, simply click the RSS feed on the side or go to the bottom and click the link.

Tenatively, we have received 1.3 acres to build a new home, waystation and HQ for IBRR! This land would be placed in a trust so that it could not be mortgaged and thus self-sustaining. Over the next several weeks I will begin to blog on this and include the blueprints for all three.
Rise will be actively involved in scheduling the electrical. We would love to speak with anyone with plumbing experience as well!
Well’p, Rise arrived here today. Looks like he’ll hang out through August. We’re going to be putting togather a bunch of updates on the Yard Info section of the forum. He just finished a northeast run. Slow riding up through Maine! That’ll all be updated and viewable for those registered at the forum.
Will post more this wekeend.
Well’p, back at the Southeast Command HQ. Good run up to South Dakota to visit Shoestring. Rise is on his way here right now. Will add a bit more in a bit and do some more work on both the site and the forum.
Well, after a year hiatus, we are preparing to hit the road. No need to get into the reasons, simply have the hot joe and rollie waiting! First stop, Kentucky. We’re hoping to get a base camp set up and continue with the forum updating. Anyone interested in participating, contact the President at president@ibrr.org
We grow tobacco out here. Use some ourselves and sell a bit. We just received notification from the FDA about the new regulation impacting the markets. For those of you who smoke, you’re gonna love this. Nicotene will be removed from cigarettes and chew. Now, of course there will be the naturally occuring levels of nicotene, but ALL tobacco products have nicotene added. If you use rollie like Top or Drum or Bugler (as we sell a lot to them) or full flavor smokes or chew like me, you’re REALLY fucked!!! Those products have the most additives!
Pertinent news story on it.

So, you may have noticed some new features. Your email is now accessible. The Forum is as well. Also, we’re getting a DIY section underway. The Project Magellan section will walk you through most of the important stuff. We have also integrated NextGen Gallery into our site (open source as always).
A welcome to our new members Lauren and Diamondrails!
New Updates will come via these pages so stay tuned!
